CounselorDeanna Kane is an enthusiastic graduate student pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Barry University. With a bachelor’s degree in psychology earned from St. Joseph’s University in 2017 on Long Island, New York, she has accumulated seven years of experience in the mental health field, including two years as a hands-on substance use counselor. Her passion lies in helping individuals thrive by empowering them to develop healthy coping mechanisms and achieve personal growth. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in various addiction therapies, including relapse prevention, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care, alongside her work in individual and group therapy settings.
Deanna uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and addiction-specific interventions. She takes a client-centered approach, working collaboratively with her clients to find solutions to their challenges. Her work extends to facilitating group therapy sessions, where she fosters a supportive environment for shared experiences and collective healing. With a strong focus on education and empowerment, Mrs. Kane helps clients build positive coping strategies, achieve personal growth, and maintain long-term recovery. Outside of the office, Deanna enjoys playing pickleball, spending time with loved ones, going to Disney World, and working on her MSW degree.
